Specialty Pharmacist Certified through Leading Industry Organization

Alexandria, VA (May 22, 2015) – The Specialty Pharmacy Certification Board (SPCB) is pleased to announce the recent certification of Jonathan Ogurchak, PharmD, CSP under its Certified Specialty PharmacistTM (CSPTM) certification program. Created to serve as an objective tool for identifying competent professionals within the Specialty Pharmacy industry, SPCB developed the CSP certification to provide independent, verifiable evidence of proficiency in their practice

OgurchakDr. Jonathan Ogurchak, Director of Clinical Programs & Pharmacy Operations at PANTHERx Specialty, is a graduate of the Duquesne University Mylan School of Pharmacy.  He oversees day-to-day operations, developing new, innovative uses for clinical programs, enhancing both patient and prescriber experiences. He has designed and implemented several high-touch pharmacist-driven programs focused on dosing efficiency and clinical monitoring of patient outcomes with specialty therapies.

The CSP credential is a key indicator to employers, manufacturers, patients, payers, other healthcare providers, and the public at large that a professional is an expert in specialty pharmaceuticals. Earning CSP certification validates specialty pharmacy experience, demonstrates a commitment to patient safety, and sets a new standard for pharmacies to elevate their specialty pharmacy services. Applications for the CSP exam are available at www.spcboard.org. Exams are administered in April and October yearly.

SPCB, launched in 2012, is an independent, not-for-profit organization whose sole mission is the certification of professionals who meet specific eligibility requirements and pass a rigorous assessment instrument. The SPCB is independent from any trade or professional association. The SPCB is dedicated to promoting specialty pharmacy’s unique responsibility, maintaining the highest quality standards, and advocating for professional development to ensure that specialty patients receive appropriate care now and in the future. The CSP program is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA). The goal of the CSP program is to assure patients receive care from qualified, educated, and knowledgeable specialty pharmacists.
